Hospice of the Piedmont and Hospice of Randolph complete merger
(High Point & Asheboro, NC) – Effective October 1, the boards of directors of Hospice of the Piedmont and Hospice of Randolph announce that the merger of the two organizations is complete. Since announcing their intent to merge in May 2019, both boards and leadership teams have worked diligently to ensure that the collaboration would result in a solid, mission-driven organization whose continued common commitment is patients, families, staff and community.
Led by former Hospice of the Piedmont President and CEO Trent Cockerham, the agency will operate two campuses and inpatient facilities, Hospice Home at High Point and The Randolph Hospice House. Hospice of Randolph will operate as an affiliate of Hospice of the Piedmont while maintaining its strong position as a healthcare provider in Randolph County.
“With a broader capacity to provide services, Hospice of the Piedmont and Hospice of Randolph will be able to help provide care to more individuals and families each year,” says Cockerham, now CEO of the combined organization.
Over the next several months, Hospice of the Piedmont and Hospice of Randolph will continue to align their brands and create a cohesive position in the healthcare marketplace. Individuals and families currently receiving services will not see a change in their care.
Last year, Hospice of the Piedmont and Hospice of Randolph served more than 2,000 patients across their combined eight-county service area. The combined organization continues to provide in-home hospice care, as well as inpatient services, bereavement services, and palliative care programming.
“As we become one, we know that we will do great things in our community and continue to help individuals and families seek the care they need on the terms they choose,” says Rhonda Moffitt former President and CEO of Hospice of Randolph County. Moffitt will serve as the President/Chief Operating Officer of the combined organization.
